About the Researcher
Stephanie Powers has been researching family history for more than 20 years. Specializing in African-American genealogy and DNA research, she carefully documents details in informative easy to understand text and diagrams.
Stephanie is a member of the Afro-American Historical and Genealogical Society (AAHGS) Metro Atlanta Chapter where she created and edited the chapter newsletter. She currently serves as the DNA Group Leader. She is also the editor of the AAHGS Journal.
Genealogy resources and technology change frequently, so Stephanie maintains her knowledge by participating in genealogy educational workshops and conferences.
Stephanie is a Professional Project Manager®. She has been a freelance business writer since 2009. She has published hundreds of articles, marketing materials, and videos on proprietary corporate websites and public web portals. Her mission is to deliver messages that help people achieve and maintain a healthy life: financially, spiritually, physically, and socially. Stephanie’s academic achievements include: a bachelor’s degree in business administration; an MBA; and a certificate in nonfiction creative writing. In her spare time, she enjoys golf, gardening, outdoor adventure, and exploring foreign cultures.
